Precision Medicine & Health Disparities

Program Description:  Al Richmond, Executive Officer from Community-Campus Partnerships for Health will facilitate and provide a community engaged platform to discuss research exploring the potential for precision medicine - an emerging approach that takes into account individual variability in genes, environment, and lifestyle - to promote health equity and reduce health disparities.

NC Activist Series: Screening of the film “Undocumented & Unafraid”

The NC Activist Series will be an opportunity for students faculty, and staff to hear from and meet statewide and local activists who are working on various projects related to social justice.  This program hopes to expose campus to various points of view in order to start a dialogue about what is happening in the state, and to give the campus community an opportunity to experience grassroots activism at work. 

Friendly Peer

This training is designed for Undergraduate students as a way of educating them about the lived experiences of LGBTQ individuals on campus.  Students will walk away from the training with a better sense of the lives of LGBTQ people, a list of campus resources, and the tools to become a better Ally.

Carolina Conference on Queer Youth

The Conference on LGBT Youth will bring together college students, high school/middle school students, teachers, counselors, and other practitioners working with this population.  This conference is open to all members of campus and will be an opportunity to have conversations with professionals about the work being done to create safer spaces for all members of the LGBTQ community.

Event is from 9:00am to 5:00pm
