Destress Fest - Massage Lounge

Program Description: Learn about time and stress management through an interactive game and get a free massage! Participation is limited and students should registered in advance by contacting arniziol@uncc.edu.

Appointments will be given to those who have pre-registered and then on a first come first serve basis.

Program Description:  Dr. Gary Chapman is one of the world's leading Christian marriage counselors. He as authored more than 30 books while also serving as associate senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church. Dr. Chapman's globally renowned book, "The 5 Love Languages," has sold more than 10 million copies and has been translated into 50 languages. 

Women Empowerment Series: Self Care During Finals

Program Description: The {WE} Women Empowerment Series will focus on encouraging, empowering, and teaching women to be confident, own their accomplishments, and love their bodies by exploring a variety of college women’s issues. Mindfulness

Program Description:  Religious and Spiritual Life is excited to host Dr. Susan Funk (formerly of our UNC Charlotte Counseling Department), for a workshop on the concept and practice of mindfulness. Dr. Funk is a Clinical Psychologist specializing in providing treatment for trauma, anxiety, depression, and spiritual and existential concerns and integrates mindfulness practices into most of her work.

Meeting the Mind and Body: Accepting our Inner World in Order to Pursue our Goals

Description: Stress and pressure are a part of the college experience and the human condition as a whole. This program will provide an introduction to acceptance and mindfulness meditation practices as an alternative way to cope with stress in the service of reaching goals consistent with your values. Mindfulness practice has been shown to increase concentration, focus, and sleep, as well as reduce stress, anxiety, and perfectionism. Specific exercises will include mindfulness meditations, values exploration, and goal-setting.
