For After-Hours Nurse Triage by Phone call 704-687-7400
In order to provide UNC Charlotte students continuous access to nursing advice, the Student Health Center contracts with FoneMed, an after-hours nursing phone service. FoneMed is staffed by nurses, who will offer nursing advice for acute illness and/or injury experienced during times when the UNC Charlotte Student Health Center is not open, on evenings and weekends.
FoneMed nurses do NOT have access to medical records at the Student Health Center. The after-hours service CANNOT provide prescription refills.
Center for Counseling and Psychological Services After-Hours Resources
For after-hours consultations with a counselor, call the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services at 704-687-0311 to be connected to ProtoCall. ProtoCall is a free service of the UNC Charlotte Center for Counseling and Psychological Services that provides after-hours counseling services. ProtoCall counselors can discuss your immediate needs, how to manage your current problem, and how to follow-up to get the assistance you need.
For other crises after hours, you may also contact appropriate residence hall personnel (if you are an on campus student) or the Campus Police (704‑687‑2200). In either case, they will discuss with you the options you have for getting assistance, which may include getting in touch with the counselor on-call or a referral to another resource in the community.
